Minnie Pond Campground
| Minnie Pond Campground offers a
primitive, yet diverse camping experience. This human-made impoundment was designed to
attract and provide habitat for waterfowl. Ducks, geese, and heron frequent the area.
Minnie Pond houses a good population of bass, bike, and blue gill as well. Mena Creek,
flowing from Minnie Pond is a popular trout fishing stream. The land surrounding Minnie
Pond is also noted for its deer hunting. LOCATION Minnie Pond is located in Newaygo County, Michigan. The nearest community is Hesperia, about 11 miles southwest. ACCESS Access for picnic area: From Hesperia, go east on M-20 about 6 miles, then turn north on Luce Avenue. Travel 3 miles, then turn east on 4 Mile Rd. for 1/2 mile. Turn north on Alger Avenue and travel 1 mile to Forest Road 5632. Access for camping: Follow above directions, but continue past Forest Road 5632 for about 1/16 mile to Forest Road 9570, then go west to the camping area. FACILITIES AVAILABLE
