Diamond Point
| Diamond Point is situated on the
popular White River. It serves as both a primitive campground as well as a canoe
landing and rest stop. There is a parking area a short distance from the canoe
landing. The White River provides a good trout, salmon and sucker fishery.
There are five numbered camping sites on a one way loop road through this beautiful,
quiet area. LOCATION Diamond Point is located in the southeast corner of Oceana County, Michigan, about 14 miles west of Fremont and 15 miles southwest of Hesperia. ACCESS From Fremont, take M-82 west 5 miles. Continue west on Skeels Road for 8 miles until it turns south into Nichols Road. Travel 1/2 mile on Nichols Road to Fruitvale, turn right onto Fruitvale and go 1/2 mile to Kops Road. Turn right on Kops for 1/2 mile and continue on Forest Road 9304 to the area. From Hesperia, take M-120 south for 7 miles then turn right on Skeels Road and follow directions above. FACILITIES AVAILABLE
