Diamond Point

Diamond Point is situated on the popular White River.  It serves as both a primitive campground as well as a canoe landing and rest stop.  There is a parking area a short distance from the canoe landing.  The White River provides a good trout, salmon and sucker fishery.  There are five numbered camping sites on a one way loop road through this beautiful, quiet area.

Diamond Point is located in the southeast corner of Oceana County, Michigan, about 14 miles west of Fremont and 15 miles southwest of Hesperia.

CONSIDERATIONS

  • To avoid resource damage, camping is allowed at numbered sites only.  Camping at this site is limited to 14 consecutive days.  Water is not provided and there are no garbage facilities.

  • Care should be taken to keep the area clean and in the condition it was found, so visitors are asked to please pack out what they pack in.

  • Diamond Point is used by a local canoe livery under a special-use permit from the Forest Service.  Because the road through the area is narrow, traffic often gets congested when canoers are being dropped off.  Please be considerate and park in designated areas only.
